Paysafe donates 10,000 hot meals for Syrian citizens

London/Vienna, January 24, 2017 – Paysafe’s prepaid online payment specialist paysafecard has donated 10,000 hot meals for Syrian citizens to the aid organisation “Doctors Without Borders”.

paysafecard had arranged to make the donation once its “magic memory” game had been played one million times. The online community - and gamers in particular - didn’t hesitate and helped to ensure the support for many who lack the most basic essentials. The free-to-play game “magic memory”, which tests and trains memory skills, was specifically designed for this cause.

Having reached the goal, and as part of its ongoing support for the charity, paysafecard has donated the equivalent of 10,000 warm meals to Doctors Without Borders for people on the run in Syria.

Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), help people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from health care. The cheque to fund the meals was handed over to Paulina Bugajski-Hochriegl, a relationship manager from Doctors Without Borders at paysafecard’s offices in Vienna.

Commenting on the support for the charity’s work, paysafecard CEO Udo Müller, said: “In the face of the civil war in Syria, individuals have extremely few opportunities to help directly and effectively. By working together with Doctors Without Borders, an organisation that has helped so many people in conflict areas around the world, our gamers have helped us in a way that reaches those who need it most. I would like to thank all those who supported us to reach this goal of getting hot food to those in need.”
