Paysafe careers: A day in the life of Petra Mosetti

This month we catch up with Petra Mosetti, Fraud & AML Analyst, Consumer Risk, at Paysafe. Petra tells us about her career so far, the brilliant work she does with her team, and what keeps her engaged and happy at work.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself, and a typical day in your job at Paysafe?

I'm a 28-year-old who had the privilege of growing up near the seaside – a place I hold close to my heart and love spending time at. I come from the Slovenian minority in Italy, which gifted me with a bilingual environment from day one.

After finishing high school, I pursued a bachelor’s degree in security studies in Ljubljana. Following that, I embarked on a journey that led me to live in various European cities like Amsterdam, Vilnius, and The Hague for studying and internships. In November 2020, I joined Paysafe as a Fraud and AML Analyst.

A typical day in my role involves a mix of exciting tasks. Besides monitoring and investigating suspicious activities, I also dive into handling suspicious activity reports and maintaining contacts with our business partners. This multidimensional approach keeps me engaged and requires close collaboration with diverse teams across the company, making each day uniquely fulfilling.

What is Fraud Monitoring and Investigation?

The Monitoring and Investigation Team focuses predominantly on ex-post transaction monitoring and investigation of suspicious activity and trends.

What do you love most about your role?

What truly stands out in my role is the ever-changing nature of each day. The need to stay vigilant and adapt quickly keeps me engaged and alert. Moreover, the opportunity to uncover the complexities of different white-collar crime strategies is intellectually stimulating.

How does your team contribute to Paysafe’s goals and vision in Powering Play, Safely?

Our team plays an essential role in upholding Paysafe's commitment to security and integrity. By attentively monitoring and investigating suspicious activities, we ensure that the platform remains a safe environment for all users. Our efforts align with the broader goal of enabling smooth transactions while safeguarding against fraudulent behaviour.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

While there isn't a specific standout event, I've found the most fulfilling aspect of my career to be the continuous path of personal and professional growth, powered by new challenges. What really means a lot to me is this ongoing journey of learning and progression. It's like collecting experiences and lessons that shape who I am.

Petra Mosetti comes from the Slovenian minority in Italy, and was raised in a bilingual environment that shaped her openness and adaptability. This dual language perspective naturally fuels her curiosity for diverse viewpoints. She still holds the sea close to her heart and frequently visits.

Petra joined Paysafe three years ago as a Fraud & AML Analyst, Consumer Risk.
