My Paysafe: A week in the life of Pramila Rayapudi

Pramila Rayapudi is a Product Manager within the Risk and Compliance team, working in our Hyderabad office.

For you, is there a typical day or week at Paysafe?

I work in Paysafe’s Product Risk and Compliance team, handling the politically exposed person (PEP) and Sanctions portfolio. Every day and week are completely different and that is what keeps my job interesting. My team focuses on product roadmap management, defining the product vision. We work with the engineering, project, sales, and marketing teams on a day-to-day basis to create products that are suitable for the market within the regulatory framework. Each day is not only exciting, I am also learning and developing my career as well.

What has surprised you about working at Paysafe?

The most wonderful thing that surprised me at Paysafe was how much of a priority the wellbeing of employees is to the business. The HR and the senior leadership teams put in a lot of effort to ensure that all employees are content and satisfied. Employee engagement activities such as monthly surveys, continuous efforts to interact personally with all employees on a one-on-one basis, No Meetings Days to emphasise the importance of work life balance, full or half days off to boost wellbeing, games and interactive sessions to blend fun and work, and internal community groups to discuss the challenges faced as individuals all reflect how employee oriented this organisation is.

What initially motivated you to join Paysafe?

I have been working at Paysafe for nine months. Working in fintech, where finance and technology join hands to cater to diverse merchants and customers within a robust regulatory foundation, was my motivation for joining. Paysafe is also paving the way for me to build my career in a financially stable organisation with a strong hold in the global financial market. The reviews of Paysafe as an employer were very positive and encouraging, so that also gave me the confidence to join the organisation.

Are you involved in some of Paysafe’s Community and Environment or Diversity and Inclusion initiatives?

I am part of the Women’s Network and I feel very excited about it. It is not only about being a member of the committee, but also the opportunities that are provided to share my ideas for the involvement and empowerment of women in the workplace. I had the opportunity to participate in workshops and webinars about achieving a good work life balance, especially for women. It gives us a platform to interact with wonderful colleagues across the globe to see how they cope with the same challenges and situations that we sometimes face in Indian culture.

What do you think about diversity and inclusion at Paysafe?

Paysafe is a global organisation and the teams are unique as they often contain diverse team members from across the globe. For example, my line manager is based in London. This gives me a chance to gain practical knowledge and learn best practices from the other locations. Paysafe strongly promotes diversity and inclusion in both its words and actions to ensure equality for all employees from diverse ethnic or professional backgrounds.

Does Paysafe do a good job of communicating with its employees?

Paysafe ensures that all the employees are well informed and are aware of the latest organisational updates and information. The weekly one-to-one conversations with our managers and the personalised mails from the senior management team, the monthly Glint surveys, and leadership team answering direct queries from employees in the monthly townhalls are all ways that demonstrate how much each employee matters to the organisation.

How have you found having to work from home? Would you explore this opportunity in the future if given the opportunity?

I joined the organisation during the COVID-19 lockdown period. The technical assistance to help new employees join the business and the virtual product training available has meant it has felt like business as usual from my first day. My digital one-to-ones and daily conversations with my line manager and with colleagues based at other global sites are normal to me now. So I have not faced any challenges with working from home at all. The collaboration with other teams has been smooth and easy.  Moreover, it improves my work life balance. Yes, if given the opportunity to continue I would love to work from home as it has helped me to handle my home and work life, striking the right balance.
