Celebrating women in fintech

At Paysafe, we’re proud to have many successful women in our global company. On International Women's Day 2018, we hear from them about what their top career advice would be for women in business

At Paysafe, we’re proud to have many successful women in our global company. As part of a two-part blog series as we celebrate International Women's Day 2018, we hear from them about what their top career advice would be for women in business:

Carla Erlick, Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Montreal, Canada: “Ask yourself what you love doing. Your work is going to take up a large part of your life and doing what you love will make it all worthwhile. Once you find a career you love, you will be the best at doing it.”

Valentina Phelps, Head of Finance, Cambridge, UK: “Always be yourself, as this will lead you towards people that share your views, principles and values. Give it your all because you take pride in what you do and because you don't want to let others down, you will reap the benefits in good time.”

Neda Dzharova, Software Engineer, Quality Assurance, Sofia, Bulgaria: “Reach for what you really want, you might be surprised how close you are to it. Prioritise yourself and pick your battles. There’s always a good lesson to be learned and sometimes the best ones come from failures.”

Gretchen H. Bender, Senior Vice President, Sales, Houston, US: “Understand that the knowledge you possess about your given industry is a powerful tool.  Learn as much as you can and in as many functional areas as possible.”

Salini Gaddam, Senior Quality Assurance, Hyderabad, India: “Hard work, knowledge and confidence are the three key factors that drive success! Work hard to gain the knowledge you need to enhance your confidence, which brings success. Challenge what is against your beliefs, accept what comes your way, don't give a damn what the rest of the world thinks and say, ‘I love myself’.”

Claire Gates, CEO, Payolution, Vienna: “Don’t rest on your laurels. Tenacity, drive, and ambition to go for what you want is key to progressing. Doing a “good job” is not enough – you have to stand out.”

Sarafina Wolde-Gabriel, Vice President of Strategy, Income Access, UK: “Always be curious and courageous!  Learn new things and try to view the world from different perspectives. A constantly evolving industry like ours needs you to see the future.”
