Families at Paysafe: How We Balance Career and Family Life

At Paysafe, we know that family comes in many forms - and that achieving balance between our personal and professional lives takes intention, flexibility, and a supportive culture. As part of our Families at Paysafe series, we spoke to colleagues from our five main hubs, each sharing their unique perspective on how they make it work.

Today, meet five teammates from across the globe.

Suzan Mansur - Market Presence Policy Analyst, Sofia

Q: What does a well-balanced day look like for you?

A well-balanced day is one where I manage to give my best at work, without missing the small but important family moments - like taking my kids to school or having lunch together. It’s not about perfection, but about presence - being fully focused during work hours, and then unplugging and truly enjoying family time after that.

Q: What’s one thing you’ve learned from parenting or caregiving that influences how you work?

Parenting teaches you patience, multitasking, and how to negotiate with a tiny but determined human - all very transferable skills in the workplace! It’s also taught me to lead with empathy, stay flexible, and that sometimes, snacks really do solve everything.

Q: What’s your favorite “after work” ritual with your family?

Movie night! We all pile on the couch with popcorn, blankets, and a very intense debate about what we’re watching (which usually ends with something animated). It’s our cozy way to reconnect, unwind, and reset - even if we’ve watched the same movie 12 times.

Q: What makes it possible for you to do both - build your career and be there for your family?

Oh, this is a tough one! I believe many parents constantly wonder if we can truly balance both aspects of our lives. For me, having a strong support system is crucial. This could be my partner, family members, friends, and of course, a job that understands and supports this balance. Flexibility in office attendance is a meaningful benefit when you have a family. Being able to work from home for any situation makes a huge difference. My kids, who are 11 and 8, often tell me, “Mom, I like that when we come home, you’re in your office doing your job, and when you have a break, you can check in on us or give us a hug or kiss.” Additionally, using planner tools helps a lot. And I make a conscious effort to be fully present once the workday ends — disconnecting from work to connect with my family.

Q: How does the Paysafe hybrid model work for you in practice?

Well, in most of our cities, transportation can be quite a challenge. The hybrid model brings us the peace of not having to commute during rush hours every day, which significantly reduces our stress levels. This extra time can be spent on anything we need — not just with family, but also on hobbies, hanging out with friends, or simply resting. Moreover, the flexibility to choose which days to go to the office based on personal needs is incredibly supportive.

Q: What has your family taught you that helps you at work?

My family is very generous with me, and I’ve learned a lot from my kids. They’ve taught me the importance of valuing the small things that build trust and strengthen our relationships. As a single mom, there are times when I feel like I demand them to mature early. But then I see how smart they are and how they recognize that our collective effort is our strength.

Q: What part of Paysafe’s culture helps you feel supported as a person, not just an employee?

I’ve been fortunate to work with leaders and colleagues who genuinely care. Whether it’s regular check-ins, mentorship, or just a quick message to see how I’m doing, that human connection goes a long way. It’s clear that people here care about each other beyond just deadlines and deliverables.

Q: How do you integrate your family life with your professional ambitions?

I’ve learned that setting clear boundaries is key to integrating my family life with my professional goals. I make sure to be fully present during work hours, but I also protect time for my family in the evenings and on weekends. This balance helps me stay energized and focused in both areas of my life.

Q: What’s one ritual or moment in your week that reminds you why balance matters?

Every evening, I have a moment with my family. Dinner time is my favorite part of the day (not just because it involves food!) but it is a time for us to connect with no screens involved and to catch up on what has happened that day. It’s a small but powerful reminder that while work is important, these moments are irreplaceable. It helps me reset and remember why balance matters.

Q: Has your definition of success changed since starting a family? How do you see it now?

Before having my son, Jackson, my sole focus was being the best EA I could be - top of my game, fully dedicated to supporting leadership and driving team success. Now, I’ve proudly added “best mom” to that title, and I’m thriving in both roles! Balancing executive support and motherhood has brought new energy and perspective to everything I do.

Q: What does a “family-friendly workplace” mean to you - and does Paysafe fit that description?

For me, a family-friendly workplace means recognizing that we’re not just employees - we’re people with full lives, many responsibilities, and a whole lot of hats to wear. A truly family-friendly culture understands that our time and attention are constantly shifting between these roles. It’s not always neat or predictable, and sometimes those hats overlap in ways that require flexibility, patience, and a little humor. Paysafe has absolutely been that kind of workplace for me. I’ve had the flexibility to be present for my son when it matters most, and the understanding from my manager and my amazing colleagues to continue showing up as a great assistant.

Q: What’s one habit you’ve built that helps you stay present - at work and at home?

Communicate! Talk to your manager, your colleagues, your friends, and family! So many of us are in the same boat of trying to do it all - and not only that, but trying to be the best at it all too! We all need a little help and understanding from time to time, and communicating with the people around you can help bring that balance to not only your work life but your family life too.

Q: How has Paysafe’s hybrid working model impacted your family routine?

Paysafe offers flexibility in its hybrid working model and this has helped me to stay flexible for my family, play my part in the childcare and make sure I can be home on days where it’s important for me to be there for my son.

Q: What’s your secret to staying balanced during a busy week?

Planning and making sure that important family needs are prioritized around work, knowing that I have the support to pivot when unexpected events occur.

Q: What would you tell someone considering joining Paysafe?

From my experience Paysafe has a family-comes-first culture, with senior executives openly supporting this. I have the support of my manager, peers, and team to be flexible where it’s possible. For me, that’s a huge part of what makes a company somewhere I want to work.

From popcorn-fueled movie nights to screen-free family dinners, from hybrid work flexibility to redefining success as parents, our colleagues remind us that balance isn’t about perfection - it’s about presence, communication, and support. At Paysafe, we’re proud to create an environment where careers and families can thrive side by side.
