Risk

Compliance

The compliance department is tasked with closely watching if the business adheres to external regulations and internal controls and works to meet key regulatory objectives to protect the business, investors, and customers. It also seeks to identify risks that the organization faces and advises on how to avoid or address them. So, if you are interested in resolving compliance issues as they arise and advise the business on rules and controls, but also be commercially aware and support the business we are involved in, then we welcome you to Compliance at Paysafe.

Risk Compliance

Learn more about some of the main Risk & Compliance divisions:

Risk Operations

The Risk Operations teams' daily activities include risk evaluation of business prospects and existing corporate clients, merchant due diligence and business model assessment. These teams prevent Financial Crime, Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Tax evasion, etc. As part of this division are the Collections and Issuing teams. They monitor closely consumer and merchant accounts that have a negative balance and we take all necessary actions to manage and reduce losses by managing the end to end collections and prepaid dispute and chargeback process.

Risk Governance

The Risk Governance divisions execute risk governance and credit risk functions. These teams develop and update risk policy and process documents to ensure business needs, risk appetite, risk and regulatory requirements are met and maintained. Additionally, they act as an advisor on Merchant Risk and Compliance by conducting merchant reviews (including review of merchants’ business model and financials, calculating risk exposure).

Consumer Financial Crime Policy

The Consumer Financial Crime Policy has different divisions. On one hand, is the Risk Systems team that works with risk engine and is responsible for mitigation of risk and compliance risks by implementing, adjusting and reviewing the rules in the risk system. On the other, the Financial Crime Investigation team is responsible for identifying compliance and fraud risks, estimating the financial exposure, reporting suspicious activities to the authorities and handling all financial crime related issues, by conducting deep analysis and investigations.

Financial Crime Management

Financial Crime Management teams provide positive impact on main Risk KPIs. They ensure Financial Crime Operations quality is meeting the targets and work on various process improvements and best practice implementations in order to optimize customers satisfaction risk experience.

Risk Strategy & Analytics

The Risk Strategy & Analytics drive risk decisions and support Paysafe’s growth through consumer risk management. The main tasks include analyzing wallet risk, transaction risk and financial instrument risk and identifying fraud trends with automatic alerts to reduce large fraud losses and systematic attacks.

Operational Risk

The Operational Risk teams act as center of reporting excellence and knowledge by performing various data analysis, automations and providing different risk insights via stress testing scenarios, robust incident management reporting and risk appetite automations. They provide regular and ad-hoc reports to both internal and external stakeholders.

Consumer Risk Data Science

The Consumer Risk Data Science is responsible for utilizing advanced data science and machine learning techniques to analyze and manage consumer-related risks. Based on the insights derived from data analysis and modeling, the team collaborates with Risk Management and Business Operational teams to develop effective risk strategies.

Compliance Advisory

The Compliance Advisory team supports every big partnership of Paysafe via framework development, product risk assessments and compliance support of the relationships. The team deals with Merchant Advisory and Partner Compliance reviews, Product Risk Assessments, Market Presence Compliance and Consumer Compliance.

Compliance Business Support

Acting as a first compliance point of contact for the business, the Compliance Business Support team provides compliance support to all Businesses operated by Paysafe. The team has established and maintains a good relationship with the Business, Sales and Commercial teams and raises awareness with regards to Compliance.

Global Compliance Governance

Global Compliance Governance has different divisions. On one hand, is the Audit, Policy & Training team that ensures group-wide governance in terms of Compliance Audits & Questionnaires, Group Policies, and Compliance Training. On the other hand, we have the Compliance Monitoring & Oversight teams acting as a 2nd line of defense ensuring that both Paysafe and our partners follow their obligations regarding Compliance Monitoring & Oversight.

Compliance Technology & Crypto

Compliance Technology & Crypto team serves as a key enabler in the Crypto and Digital Asset Space, especially from a Regulatory and Banking perspective. The team ensures compliance advisory and support for any new crypto related offerings in the digital space and enhance the crypto knowledge within the Risk and Compliance departments.

"Six years ago, I embarked on my journey with Paysafe as a DW Collections Supervisor in the recently established Collections department. After two years, I was promoted to Collections Manager. In 2021, a decision was made to expand the Collections team to cover all Group divisions, effectively making it a global function. As a result, I was again promoted, this time to Senior Manager Collections, leading the newly-formed global team. Since joining in 2017, the Collections team has grown threefold in size and has become an integral part of the Paysafe Defend organization.
