Hiring Manager Spotlight – Paul Miley

"To succeed, you need to know the business inside out.” That’s the principle Paul Miley, EEA CEO & Director for Paysafe Prepaid Services Limited, has lived by throughout his 19 years at Paysafe.

From products and customers, to markets, teams, and regulation - Paul believes real impact comes from understanding every layer of the business. It’s a mindset that has shaped his journey since the early days of PaysafeCard, when online payments were just beginning to take off.

Nearly two decades later, Paul is still driven by the same curiosity and vision that first brought him to Paysafe. His leadership is rooted in passion, dedication, and deep knowledge - qualities he also sees reflected in his team.

What is the key to success in your field?

Getting to know the business thoroughly. It sounds a bit obvious I know, but it is really important to know all about our business – our products and what makes them unique, our customers and their needs, the markets we operate in, how our teams work together, and the regulations we follow.

What three words best describe your team?

Passionate, Dedicated, Knowledgeable

What's your favorite go-to interview question?

Why do you want to join Paysafe?
Also not too surprising, but I want a candidate to show a real interest in our company, not just the role that they are applying for. I don’t want to hire someone who just wants the position or the title as part of their career progression (which is perfectly understandable). If they have researched the company, they can demonstrate their knowledge about our business and therefore their desire to join our team. If they haven’t researched our company, it will become obvious that they are just applying for a job, rather than really wanting to join the Paysafe team.

What inspired you to join Paysafe?

I joined Paysafe 19 years ago when I started working with the Paysafecard business in Vienna. Back then, we only had one product, and I loved the simplicity of the concept – allowing consumers to pay online with cash. I was approached by the founders of that business who wanted to hire someone in Ireland to represent them. I was very impressed with their vision and with the potential of this new concept.

It was a good time to join as we were only starting out, trying to get a foothold in this new way of doing business – buying things “online”. The people involved were all very passionate about the potential for Paysafecard and I am fortunate to have been part of this great journey.
