My Paysafe: A week in the life of Erica Singerman

Mar 31, 2022

Erica Singerman works at Paysafe in Montreal as an Operations Performance Analyst. She volunteers as the Canadian Lead for Paysafe’s global network, Women@Paysafe.

For you, is there a typical day or week at Paysafe?

I’m engaged in a multitude of projects at any given time. Lately I’ve been particularly focused on driving continuous improvement and communications efforts across Operations, always putting our customers first. Outside of meetings and project work, my week will also include new training opportunities and getting involved in corporate initiatives.

What has surprised you about working at Paysafe?

The breadth and depth of the expertise possessed by our teams across the globe that enables us to be a leader in the payments space. The best part? Paysafe epitomizes what it means to have an Open culture (Open being one of our four company values). You can truly learn about any part of our business just by giving someone a call, regardless of where they’re based or what part of the business they sit in.

What initially motivated you to join Paysafe?

I joined Paysafe last year through the company’s inaugural graduate rotational program. I had been interested in joining Paysafe for a while, and after speaking with company leaders during the interview process, I was sold. I knew this experience would be the perfect opportunity to be immersed in different areas of the business and thereafter be strategically positioned for a full-time role. I’ve been at Paysafe for almost one year now and following two exceptional rotations in Operations and Project Management, I jumped straight into a full-time role. My experience thus far has undoubtedly confirmed my motivation to join Paysafe!

If you compare your experience as an intern in the graduate program and now as a permanent, full-time employee, what are the main differences?

Being in the graduate program, it was invigorating to see how much you could both accomplish and learn in such a short period of time. Now that I’m in a full-time role, it’s incredibly exciting and rewarding to be invested in long-term projects alongside my team.

What advice can you give to future Paysafe interns or graduates?

Trust your instincts and be confident in what you bring to the table—you were selected for a reason! Also, don’t forget to be a “sponge” every minute of the day and embrace what it means to be part of a global, innovative, publicly traded company at an exciting time in the industry. You will collaborate with colleagues from around the world—enjoy this unique experience!

What do you think about diversity and inclusion at Paysafe?

Paysafe currently has four different D&I networks, including Women@Paysafe of which I recently became the Canadian Chapter Lead. The fact that individuals across the company attend events hosted by all the networks speaks volumes about how Paysafe is not just diverse, but also inclusive. Not only are we a global company with an inherently diverse workforce, but Paysafe continues to find ways to advance the D&I agenda—a regular topic during company meetings.

How did you find having to work from home as opposed to working from the office?

At first, working from home felt like a novelty. Now, working from the office feels like one! Paysafe’s distinct culture resonated with me from day one, even via my computer screen. Nonetheless, nothing beats finally being able to converse and collaborate with colleagues in 3D. Walking into the office in the morning, being greeted by people and greeting people, and spending the day disconnected from the screen and connected to people is irreplaceable.

Describe Paysafe with 3 words

Exciting. Inspiring. Ever evolving.

You should come to work at Paysafe, because…

Every single day, without exception, will bring something new and exciting. If you work at Paysafe, I’m sure this resonates with you. If you don’t, join Paysafe and experience it for yourself!
