My Paysafe: A week in the life of Tanya Savova

Tanya is a compliance analyst in our Compliance Enhanced Due Diligence team, based in Sofia.

Do you have a typical day or week at Paysafe?

I have been working in the Compliance Enhanced Due Diligence team for almost a year and a half now, and even though some might think the role itself is not that dynamic on paper, every day seems to be a bit different. Since I joined Paysafe there has been quite a lot of positive change, so there always seems to be something new going on. Recently I have also been involved in some new projects, participated in some training and shadowing of our new joiners, so each day is different and exciting. It doesn’t get boring for sure.

What surprised you most when you joined Paysafe?

The thing that surprised me the most was the overall environment of young, friendly and ambitious people. Having spent five years at Paysafe now, I have made some great friends and have shared amazing moments with many colleagues that I am extremely thankful for.

What motivated you to join Paysafe?

It feels like eternity since I joined Paysafe, I honestly cannot even remember what it feels like not to work here. When you are looking for a job at the age of 22-23 it can be difficult to think about where you want your career to take you. It’s often just something that your peers do so you decide to give the whole ‘working’ thing a try. What motivated me to start in the customer services team at Paysafe was the opportunity to join a big company, ‘exercise’ my English and my social skills, and maybe meet some new people. But it turns out that I like having a cool place to work and great people to work with, so here I am still building my career at Paysafe five years later.

Are you involved in any of Paysafe’s Community & Environment or Diversity & Inclusion initiatives?

I honestly love all the initiatives that have been launched at Paysafe recently, especially the ones that are focused on wellness. I have participated in as many as I could, and they have all been amazing. I have always been interested in that sort of thing – healthy eating and living, exercise, mental health and wellbeing, self-improvement etc - and I really appreciate the efforts that the company has put into organising events that are so interesting and informative, and the fact that we are given the chance to participate.

What do you think about diversity and inclusion at Paysafe?

I strongly believe that the company is doing a great job of creating a diverse working environment for everyone, so that regardless of your ethnicity, gender, background, appearance, etc., you feel accepted and appreciated for the person you are and the job you are doing.

How do you get informed about what is happening at the company?

There are many sources of information – webinars, Q&As, emails, meetings, etc., to keep us updated regarding the current situation and I think we all appreciate that, especially during these uncertain times. We are invited to share our opinions and feelings in bi-weekly employee engagement and satisfaction surveys have also been a great way for us to give our feedback on different topics and I do believe it has been taken into consideration by the management.

How have you found having to work from home as opposed to working from the office? Would you explore this opportunity in the future if given the opportunity?

I think it’s great. I definitely miss talking with my colleagues in person, but overall, I enjoy it a lot. I also think that working from home, where you don’t have your team leader or manager to supervise you, teaches you discipline, self-control and self-motivation.

Do you take advantage of the summer working hours, introduced by the company?

Of course I do, it has been one of the best things that has been introduced this year considering the situation. By being able to finish the working day two hours early, one day a week, to me it feels like I am back in school and the teacher is letting us go home early. And it’s not even as though I make important plans for when I stop working at 3pm, I just chill and enjoy the moment, and I absolutely love it.
