Paysafe supports Louisiana-based merchants with pair of cost-saving measures
Sep 10, 2021
Paysafe will waive monthly fees for merchant customers and provide free access to offline payment processing app
Houston, Texas – Paysafe (NYSE: PSFE), a leading specialized payments platform, today announced that it is waiving monthly account minimum fees and monthly statement fees for its Louisiana-based merchant customers as well as offering them free access to a mobile application that enables offline payment processing. The two offers are applicable throughout the month of September and come in the wake of Hurricane Ida, which left close to one million Louisiana homes and businesses without power, with many still waiting for services to be restored.
According to the most recent estimate from AccuWeather, Louisiana-based residents are contending with damages that could total $95 billion once physical damage and indirect costs, including lost wages, medical bills and food spoilage, are both taken into account. Paysafe, in addition to waiving the aforementioned monthly fees, has arranged for affected businesses to have free access to offline payment processing in the absence of reliable Wi-Fi and mobility services. The service is facilitated by a mobile app that accepts credit card payments on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets.
Afshin Yazdian, CEO of U.S. Acquiring at Paysafe, said: “This is an immensely challenging time for our merchant customers in Louisiana, during which we feel a responsibility to stand by them and find effective, timely ways to support in their recovery. By waiving fees and facilitating offline payments, we’re strategically responding to the immediate pain points facing these small and medium-sized businesses. The payments industry as whole needs to come together to leverage different channels to spotlight those needs, including initiatives like next week’s National Small Business Week, which will appropriately focus on resilience and renewal.”
