Hartwig joined Paysafe in 2012 as Legal Counsel, focusing on regulatory matters in relation to paysafecard, the company’s original eCash business founded in Vienna, Austria.

With the company growing, Hartwig’s role has expanded, assuming more responsibility in various roles, and looking after legal, regulatory and government affairs matters across the business. Hartwig now heads up the global regulatory and government affairs function for Paysafe. Prior to Paysafe, Hartwig worked as an assistant professor at universities in Austria and Germany.
